high back 5 point booster vs. belt positioning booster

I have a 2 year son old in a roundabout, which I love. My almost 3 1/2 year girl old was in this until the 2 year old grew out of his carrier. I got her the popular Eddie Bauer, which I absolutely hate! The belt is twisted permanently and the harness adjuster does not work smoothly at all. I am trying to decide on a high back booster that has a 5 point restraint and will convert to a belt positioning booster, one of the britax that is a step up from the roundabout (?marathon, I haven't looked until today, so I am not current with britax seats), or just go to the plain belt positioning booster (not likely since she is about 33-35 pounds and about 39-40 inches). Though I have had the Eddie Bauer for a while, today was the final straw as I was unable to properly adjust the harness on her seat. At this point, I do not mind spending money on the britax if it will provide me with ease of use, comfort and safety. Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi-

It is a good idea to keep your son in a 5-point harness until at least 40 pounds. The Marathon may a good choice if you liked your Roundabout. A different combination booster is another choice, some have wider wings for head support than others-

I recently got my older two kids Britax Huskys. My oldest child would not stay properly positioned in the booster and she was too heavy to use the five point harness in her old seat. I knew I would have the same problem with my DS, so I just bit the bullet and got the Huskys. I want them strapped in and tied down and as safe as possible for as long as possible. One big bonus with my Britax seats is no twisty straps. I feel that was worth the price of the seats all by itself.

Throw the Eddie Bauer on Ebay and go for the bigger Britax seat. You won't regret it.
