Default ? for Denise & Alan re: portable car seat

Hello, I noticed a product in the One Step Ahead catalog called the Tote 'n Go Portable Car Seat (further research revealed that this is made by Cosco). Denise and Alan, what do you know about this product? The product description indicates that it meets or exceeds Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards.

Here's the full product description and a link to the product.

Please, if any readers have tried this product, I'd love your feedback, as it might be handy for travel or infrequesnt uses in grandma's car.

    Thanks in advance.

Here's a link to the page that Toby McAdams made of this 'seat' http://www.carseatdata.org/TNG.html
I used to have one, and even for occasional uses, found it extremely difficult or impossible to use properly...but in a pinch, it's not the worst product. For occasional use in grandma's or a friends car, I would have to say just moving the regular carseat would actually be much easier than using the tote n go :)

I purchased this car seat initially for my parents so they can have a car seat for the times my daughter was traveling w/ them. My daughter didn't complain, but we could tell that she didn't enjoy traveling in it too much. She preferred to be up higher and more supported in a regular car seat. As a result, my parents ended up buying a regular car seat to use instead. It's nice to have in an emergency situation, but I don't think I'd want to use it on a regular basis.

FYI in case you're considering this purchase: We bought the car seat at our local Wal-Mart for much less than OSA's price (I think it costs around 19.99).

    Hope this helps you,

    Jeanette
