    Default Needing some advice update

Just wanted to give an update on my car seat searching and seek more input.
Julie so kindly responded, so I am curious what she thinks. I went and bought the Graco Ultra Cargo and then this weekend went to a car seat check event. While the technicians are obviously not allowed to formally make specific recommendations, I was able to read between the lines and the take home message was that my kid fit, but not very well, in the Ultra Cargo (they said things like, "this is okay" where I would like to hear something like, "this is good, your kid will be safe in here") and it was pretty clear that they were pushing the Marathon. He is 3, 32 lbs and 36 inches tall.
Here's my question: What is the height maximum in the Marathon? Is it heigher than in the Roundabout? We just moved the harness to the top slot in the RA. I don't want to spend $250 if he is going to outgrow it in height in a year or so....i know every kid is different but in general, how long are these Marathons lasting?

I am beginning to think that maybe I should put his Britax RA in the second car and get a Marathon for the primary......

Hmmm...did they mention anything specific about how he didn't fit in the Cargo? That's interesting indeed!
If you have the budget for the Marathon (and try the carseat board, they have been posting madly about MA bargains!), it really is a nice seat. My dd is almost 4, 40 inches, 31 pounds, and is *at* the third slots up http://f1.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/joo....jpg%26.src=ph

I put my 6 yo ds in the seat today, oddly enough :)...he's 46 inches and 41 pounds, and he'd be in the top slots, but he's at least 2 inches below them (he's just barely above the third slots). The top height listed is 49" for that seat. Here's another boy in it at that height...he's a VERY tall 5 yo (not the first picture...scroll down a bit http://pages.ivillage.com/momika/car...otos/id24.html )

    Thanks for the update :)

So...I think you would get at least a couple years of use out of this seat, and it has all the comfort and ease of use you are used to in your Roundabout (the harness adjuster isn't *quite* as smooth, but it's not difficult, either).

http://www.windsorpeak.com/cgi-bin/dcforum/dcboard.cgi then it's in the baby bargains section, then "places to go: carseats", or this link might work: http://www.windsorpeak.com/cgi-bin/d...conf=DCConfID1
