RE: Marathon quality problems old or new?
We don't use the bellypad nor the crotch cover either ;)
Ds had the covers off in like 5 seconds, the hugs did take some adjustment on both of our parts but now he is fine with them. Even though he still loves to nibble on them LOL :P

RE: Marathon quality problems old or new?
It's funny, I've had no problems with the "crotch cover" (LOL) in the RA, but the one in the MA drives me nuts. I keep trying to leave it on figuring it has some purpose to cover something hot in the sun. I thought maybe it was b/c my MA fabric was more plush that it gets in the way.
I don't think ours has a belly pad unless you mean the rubber things.

RE: Marathon quality problems old or new?
Sometimes when I move my Marathon for one reason or another, I actually find it easier to use the seatbelts! Don't worry about it a bit. Also, really skinny kids are too tall for the MA by the time they hit the 48 pound LATCH limit..my almost 7 yo is too tall, but only 43 pounds, and is mature enough to ride in a booster seat by now, anyway.

Use the search option with keywords "Nania Airway". This should bring up comments.

RE: Marathon quality problems old or new?
Thanks to everyone who responded! We've been happy with the RA and decided to stay with Britax and got the Marathon.
THe belly pad has been lost/dropped/rolled under the car more times than I can count -very annoying!
My next hurdle is to negotiate with the MA, stroller, diaper bag, and a 2.5 yo by myself in the airport.
Any advice would be welcome!
Thanks,
Karen
