    Default Peer Pressure help

My now 6 year old is 39 lbs and 44 inches. She is currently in the Britax Wizard and this seems to fit her well. I explain that the 5 point harness is safer but she is desparate to move to a booster- all her friends are in that (or nothing)when she hits the magic 40 lbs. (She weighs herself almost daily). Does anyone have older smaller kids in the bigger seats? Also- if cost isn't a factor, which booster do you all recommend. The ones that seem the most popular around school are the Graco Turbo booster. We have always used Britax and have really liked the brand. Is there one that really seems better than the rest? Thanks, Lisa

Here I am replying to my own posting! I have been looking online a little more- Does anyone have the Recaro brand seats and what do people specifically think between the Parkway and the Bodyguard. Thanks again,

I have the Recaro Young Style as well as two Parkways. We've had Bodyguards in the past. I like all 3 seats but my kids weren't keen on dealing with the lockoffs on the Bodyguard.

My 9 yr old dd uses a Parkway in both of our vehicles. My 6.5 yr old is using a Young Sport (harnessed) in our van and he has the Young Style for our car.

They are all 3 nice boosters. I have some pics comparing the Style and Parkway. http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/threer...r=58da&.src=ph

Between the Bodyguard and Parkway, I think the Parkway works best for us. But I do like the Bodyguard for limiting movement a bit more. It also has the feature of an adjustable base to tailor the fit a bit more to your child.

I've been lucky not to have peer pressure issues yet. My 6.5 yr old is still happily riding harnessed. My 11 yr old is in a booster still. Here's a link to my 6.5 yr old riding harnessed in his Sport (in his Spiderman costume) just so your 6 yr old can see someone else her age using a harnessed seat. http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/threer...r=e6ea&.src=ph
I'm hoping my little guy will make it to 7 harnessed. I'm already struggling with the idea of moving to a booster full time when he reaches 40lbs and wondering if I should get a higher weight harnessed seat.

When you are ready to go to a booster (not her but you) Go for either a Britax Parkway or a Graco Turbo. Both are nice but the Britax has Side impact. The plus with the Graco seats is you can buy a seat with a cover that she likes (Barbie, Princess, flowers, etc). Either way they're both nice seats but only when you as mom are ready. As for peer pressure, I have a 7.5 YO niece who lives with me and still whines about being in a booster and I just ignore it. None of the kids in her class ride in them (its very rare around here for kids to be in boosters one day past 6) but I don't let her have the option.

Oh, wow, that is sooooo cute! My granddaughter is 4 1/2, 33 lbs. and 39 inches so we're going to try to keep her harnessed longer but hope that is still around when it's time!
