    Default Britax Marathon or Regent?

    Hello all,

This is probably similar to some topics below... DS is 4 mos and has outgrown the infant carrier. DD is 3 yrs&3 mos and is 33 pounds and 40 inches tall. She's currently in a Marathon, and we love it. We're debating between getting a second Marathon for DS or moving DD into a Regent (and giving DS the Marathon) and just can't decide. Any thoughts? Other factors: We do some airline travel. Both kids are in the 95% for height.

Many thanks for any help you can provide!

    Cheers,
    Kate

Both are great seats (we have both), and would work very well for your DD. But the Regent can't be used on an airplane, so perhaps a Marathon is a better choice for you.

Given the travel and thinking down the road, I'd go with another MA.
In three years your current MA will expire and you'll have to quit using it. So, your youngest won't have a seat at that time if your oldest is in a Regent. (I guess you could then buy the youngest a Regent too. But the then three year old wouldn't have a travel seat.)

I'd let your oldest keep her MA until she outgrows it, or it expires. She'll likely be 5-6. When she's 5-6, she gets a Regent. She can use a Regent for a few years.

Get your baby a new MA. He uses it 5-6 years.

The Regent isn't yet expired, so he can use it after DD goes into a booster, or just into the seat belt (depending on her size and age).

This way, you have seats that you can travel with, and that you can use for their full lifespan.

Check AMAZON!! They are having some Britax blowouts. Availability seems to go in and out. K-State and Auburn covers were 50% off, then unavailable, then available again. Other covers seem likely to follow. (FWIW, they don't have any Regents.)
