Double Stroller in NYC for Toddler & Infant

I am expecting my second child in November when my first child will be 19 months. I have read a lot of the postings regarding double strollers but am still confused about which one(s) would be best for our urban lifestyle in New York City. The stroller will get a lot of use and will be in and out of stores in Manhattan. But it will not be in and out of a car very often. Even though many of the stores in New York are small, most people seem to have side-by-side strollers rather than the tandem. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

check www.urbanbaby.com and click on for new york - that's specifically new york city - i think you'll find a lot of people use the maclaren twin traveller or opus... i've also heard a lot of satisfaction with the combi twin savvy 2002 model...
