    Default dollhouse

Suggestions for Dollhouse for 2+year old?? My son loves playing with the large dollhouse at daycare. Any suggestions of brands and types? I've seen wooden and plastic ones online for a variety of prices. I don't want to spend a fortune getting separate furniture for separate rooms. He just likes moving the people around. THanks!

This isn't really what it's intended for but it sounds like it may fit your purpose. Various stores (Pottery Barn, IKEA, Target) have bookcases that are shaped like a house. Sometimes they have a front/facade that you can swing open and sometimes they are just open. But if all he wants to do is move people around the rooms it would be perfect, because these things can take dolls about 12" high or so. If you get one that is white or natural wood colored he can even use it to display toy cars in a few years if he decides that dollhouses aren't manly enough for him.

Here's an example of one at Target for $80:

and I know they have others.

The bookcase is really cute but I think he'd like a real dollhouse. Thanks.

Have you thought about the Fisher Price Little People one? I don't have it, but I think it's really cute. And since it fits in with all the other Little People stuff I have actually considered getting this for my son. I believe it comes with a mom, a dad, and a baby, as well as some furniture.

I know I've seen some wooden ones around (in catalogs), but I can't think where right now.

After I posted this message I got a catalog in the mail from Constructive Playthings (never heard of them before), but they had a few wooden houses available. The smaller one ($59.00) you can order without the furniture and then choose from 4 families (white, black, latino, asian) for an extra $24.95. (You can get it all with the furniture for around $132.)

The larger one looks like you can only get complete with furniture, but it costs $159.95. The people are still extra.

If I remember I'll still check out the other catalogs I've gotten in the past few weeks.
