Default Toy Recommendations for a 2 YO

I am searching for fun and educational toys for my soon-to-be 2 yo. I just purchased a lacing/threading toy, but really need to get some other things for her. If you have any recommendations for indoor and outdoor toys please send them, as I feel like she has no interest in any of her "baby" toys. Thanks!

Remember that they learn through all types of play so if the toy looks like fun then it is probably worth while. For example, a set of plastic animals can be sorted, counted, arranged by size...

A great book to get is "Toddler Play" by Gymboree as it has tons of ideas for play that involve just using toys and stuff you probably already own. They may sell a smaller (size, not content) version of this at Barnes and Noble for $8.

-Playdoh and some accessories (Fun Factory)

    -Mister Potato Head

-blocks (wooden or foam and something like Duplo or Megabloks)

-anything by Leap Frog, especially the fridge magnets (Fridge Phonics or animal one)

    -play kitchen or workbench

-wooden puzzles with pegs for easy gripping

    -play telephone

-Little People toys (for "learning based" ones you could go with the Time to Learn Preschool set- it is pretty fun and teaches numbers and colors)

    -doll and stroller

-when she gets just a little older you may have luck with Memory (take out all but a few pairs and start the game with a small set)

    -musical instruments

-sand and water table (the Step 2 one is nice because it comes with a sun umbrella and some toys)

-art supplies (you can also get an easle- they make a table top one as well as large ones)

-A Dr.'s kit (I don't know if it has choking hazards)

    -Bubble Mower

    -bubbles

    -Magna Doodle

-some sort of sport equipment- golf set, basketball, bowling...

    Hope that helps a bit.

I totally agree with the PP-my DD just turned and she pretty much LOVES all those things-the easle, doll and carriage, little people, t-ball set-surprisingly she can hit a ball off it, little tikes golf clubs, soccer ball and small Dora net. She LOVED her sand and water table this summer-so worth it. We also bought her big legos that she likes, a shopping cart, a cash register, tea set, kitchen set, tool box etc. We have the luxury of my niece who is 6 having tons of toys so we get to see in advance what she likes...

    HTH!
