After a crazy afternoon at the park, I have decided to buy dd a swing set. We have a very small yard in the city. Does anyone have any suggestions or information I might find useful?

Ours came from BJ's Wholesale Club (similar to Sams & Costco). It was a pain in the rear to assemble, but very good quality. I think Sams & Costco also sell something similar.

Exactly how small a yard are we talking about? Remember to allow for clearances around the swing set. Here is the CPSC's site for home playground safety tips:

Just make sure (especially since you have two) that you've got plenty of room around swings and slides so that they aren't taking each other out :)!

I sent for a cedarworks catalog. They look great, but I think the smallest would overwhelm our yard. It would be nice to have the ability to add on if we moved though.
As for size, I am spacially challenged. I will have to measure over the weekend. We do have enough room for the basic small set from Wal-Mart (2 swings, a slide and an extra somthing), but nothing else.
Thanks for the safety flyer. I want to be as safe as we can be.

Depending on their climbing ability you might check out this set from Step2 http://tinyurl.com/2be6a
It has a relatively small foot print but still contains most of the 'essentials' - 2 swings, a slide, and a fort area. Safetywise it works because all the activities are grouped at one end (so you don't have little ones running in front of the swings to get to something on the other side. It is smaller, but to get to the slide you have to use a ladder, not stairs so it might not be appropriate for your kids.
