    Default PRESCHOOL for NEXT year

Okay - I'm COMPLETELY NEW to this whole preschool experience.
BUT - I am a WOHM to DS who will be 4yo next August. He is on his way to potty training success as we speak so I'm sure he'll be eligible for next year.
FWIW - I live in Michigan (Grand Rapids area)

    My question is this:
daycare and work is on the other side of town outside of the normal school district for where we live.

Does that mean that I would have to pay tuition for a public preschool?

DH was just laid off and so private PS isn't really an option at this point. As much as I would like him to go.

I am getting prepared for next year early b/c by February they are usually full of applicants. Registration starts next month.

Default RE: PRESCHOOL for NEXT year

I am not sure what things are like in Michigan, but in my area there are VERY few public school preschools. Around here they are mainly for children who are very low income (programs like Headstart) or for children who have moderate to severe developmental delays.

You may want to investigate church/sysnagogue based preschools since they often have tuition that is relatively low. And I know that some child care places also have a preschool option.

Beth, mom to older DD (8/01) and younger DD (10/06) and always missing Leah (4/22 - 5/1/05)
