RE: What is there to do at Universal Studios?
We went several years ago. No shows being taped or anything like that. I was with a group of guys (DH included), mainly college aged, and all agreed that Islands of Adventure was more fun than the other side of Universal. It's basically just another theme park. IofA is more thrill ride based than any other park I've been to down in Orlando, so if the 12yo is into that sort of thing, I'd definately lean towards that one.
