We will be taking our (very active) 16 month old overseas to Germany and changing planes on the way. I've got tons of small toys to take over but nothing to put it all in! I'd also like something that works as a purse/diaper bag. (At home I just throw diaper bag essentials in my huge purse.) Should I get a tote bag or a backpack? Which brand and style works best? (Links to specific products that have worked for you are much appreciated.)

I think any backpack that you like will work fine. If you want one that is also a diaper bag, I've seen some nice ones made by California Innovations (I think...) at BRU that looked nice. I just like being able to be hands free, especially when you're jugging car seat, and/or stroller, and small child.
