Favorite winter resort in New England/Mid-Atlantic area for young children

I've given up on the idea of going south between Christmas and New Year's - so am now looking for a fun resort for a few nights within driving distance of Boston. DS's will be almost 4 and 20 months (and hopefully walking by then!) Skiing would be a bonus, but not a requirement. Really looking for somewhere with nice indoor pools, facilities, sledding, outdoor fun, indoor options, casual restaurants and or kitchenettes...

Has anyone been to a place like this? Thanks so much for any ideas or places to research!

I'd look into some of the resorts in/near North Conway, NH. North Conway is about 3 hours north of Boston. Plenty of shopping and restaurants. Ski resorts are plentiful in this area.

Attitash is a ski resort just outside of North Conway, and I believe Grand Summit Resort has an indoor pool. The town of Glen (which you travel through to get to Attitash) has a really neat diner that has a train set running through it. http://www.attitash.com/summer/lodgingoptions.html
