Default Want to see Fall Foliage-New England?

DH and I have a kid-free weekend in October (October 19-22nd). We'd love to stay in a bed and breakfast and drive through small towns in New England, but we're looking for some recommendations of cool places to go.

Is October 20th too late to see the leaves? Also, what airport would you suggest starting/ending the trip at? We will be coming from Baltimore.

Any BTDT advice would be wonderful. I don't even know where to start planning.

    Thanks!

Not sure if it will be too late, depends on how far up are going. Google it, I think there are websites that predict what weeks are peak in what areas. Just an FYI... hotels are most expensive in New England during leaf-peeping and car rentals can be impossible. B&B's may require a 2 to 3 night stay. I once had to rent a SUV the 2nd weekend in October in 2003, every Hertz in MA was sold out and had to borrow one!

If you are coming from Baltimore, I would do BWI (Southwest) to Manchester if you are doing NH; BWI to Hartford if you are doing VT or Western Mass. Plus it keeps you away from Boston hotel prices.
