I just popped in....sure wish this forum was more active. We have a lot of regrets about building our home. Our builder was just aweful. I was hoping to warn others, but it does not appear that anyone is really on this board.

Tell me your story. We are trying to build custom and are now in the process of suing the first builder. We have terminated the contract on the basis of breach of contract due to poor materials. I will tell you the entire story once I know that someone is interested. THANK GOODNESS WE FOLLOWED MANY OF THE PRINCIPLES IN THE BOOK, but we didn't have an exit clause in our contract and our lawyer had to search for ways to get out of the contract (cost $$$ for lawyer fees that we could have saved some of with the clause). I was hoping to hear about your regrets so that when we get a new builder we will do better.
