How many calories can you burn on an elliptical in 2 minutes?

Well, I made my first foray into the world of the YMCA child watch room this afternoon. I have been going to the gym at night and on weekends. And, to put it mildly, DS did NOT buy into it. Two minutes after I got on the machine, one of the two girls in charge brought him into me IN the gym (their policy I guess) with tears streaming down his face. He quieted quickly - I just don't think he liked me taking off like that.

Any similar stories out there or wisdom to share? I hear we should just keep trying??

One of my friends had a similar problem with her daughter. She tried to go at the same time as another friend so that the 2 kiddos could play together. Do you know anyone else who goes to the Y? Maybe you could hook up with them. Or try bringing a special toy next time.
