CD measurements- Help!

OK I am new to Cding and am in the process of buying another batch of CDs. I am confused ( please bear with me) about what to measure for the "thigh" and "rise" of baby to see what size Cd will fit. "Waist" seems self explanatory but my DS has such a huge belly--do I measure around that or should I measure a tad bit lower (beneath belly button). What do CD makers mean when they refer to these measurements?

The rise is usually from around the belly button, or just below down through the crotch and up to wear you would want the diaper to stop on their back.

The thigh is around the part of their thigh where the diaper would be.
