Thursday night, just before midnight our new baby girl Zoe was born. We had a (somewhat unplanned!) water birth at the hospital-I'm amazed how many other water births are on this board! Anyway, I went in for my non-stress test at 6 pm Thursday, my midwife was measuring lots of contractions but they didn't feel strong enough, or different from what I had been having all week. She checked, and I was a good 6 cm. She was nervous about letting me leave, b/c dd was already engaged and she was afraid if I went home I'd never make it back! so, I called dh he got ds squared away with my parents and came over. My contractions did continue, and intensified somewhat although never felt more than slightly uncomfortable. At 11 pm I was 7 cm, and she broke my water. I got into the tub which was great b/c the contractions suddenly got very intense. Only about 20 minutes later I felt the urge to push, and sure enough only 23 minutes later dd was born. I had originally planned to get out for delivery, but everything happened way too fast-the water birth was amazing though and I would recommend it. I had a much more conventional birth w/ds including an epidural so this experience was really amazing, and I felt great right afterward which was a huge difference. She was 9 lbs, 1 oz around the same size as ds, and looks like him too. We have been home since Saturday, and Charlie is being a great big brother and everything is really going well so far-
