DS loved falling asleep in his carrier (baby Bjorn) and we would detach the carrier from the harness and put him in his bassinet/crib. Now that we are expecting twins and need to get two carriers I am looking for a cheaper one that also would be easy to detach, are there any?

I'd get another bjorn. You can find them in GUC on ebay, and for great deals at TJ Maxx and Marshall's too (around $35-40). IMO among those types of carriers the BB is by far the most comfortable one to wear!
