DS is 5.5 months and can sit in a tripod sit for just a few seconds. I have not tried him in a shopping cart yet. I figure by the time I order and get my cover he will be sitting up much better. Right now are longest shopping outings are about 45 minutes. Thanks.

You can always use your purse, the diaper bag, or a rolled up blanket if you find that you need it. It would only be for a short period - in a few weeks or a few months he'll do fine without it.
