RE: Questions to ask
I asked the same question when it came time for me/my husband to interview pediatricians. I developed my own set of questions using the following sources:
1. Sister (or friend) who has infant(s) and/or small children - what do they "wish" they knew when selecting a pediatrician? What pediatrician do they go to and why? Have them be specific.
2. Online resources - such as this from Baby Center - http://www.babycenter.com/general/3499.html
3. Books &/or Magazines - the "What to Expect..." book and also magazines I got when attending birthing classes (Fit Pregnancy, Child, Baby Talk, etc.)
4. My OB/GYN - gave some good suggestions.
Also, don't let the pediatrician "hurry" you through the appointment - it is important you feel comfortable with their medical background and bedside manner. If you don't like this person neither will your child.
Hope this helps. I interviewed a few and I KNEW the pediatrician I wanted when I met with him.
