Default Ukraine journal -adopting "older" children

I cringe to even say that a 6 and 7 year old are "older", they are just babes themselves.
But I wanted to post this mainly for you Melanie for they are the ones who shared with me how the older children are less institutionalized than the babies, toddlers...

This couple has been my biggest strength and mentors, we finally met last week and we met the two boys who like I share previously I would be lucky to get two great boys like they are. I honestly think they are two of the most beautiful well behaved children I have ever seen...

Anyway wanted to share their story.
They used another facilitator...she too has a great reputation...both are mentioned in the Ukraine thread we started...

Thanks for posting that. Their boys look so sweet. I read their adoption story. I realize it is over a year old, but how strange that they were allowed to live with them for several days and THEN they had to send them back to the orphanage?

I know...you wonder if it was in hopes of a fee or something. They also didn't get their court waived but Penney is marvelous and said they used those 30 days to come home and prepare...

She is the most amazing women...words can not say how much I think of her and how her advice to me is just GOLDEN....

She is someone who I could just follow her advice on everything and I would do well...a true pillar of strength in the process. I value her words like no one I have ever met...a great resource that it is for certain.

    Neve,

I just read this journal and was in tears--what a beautiful story!

A family in my sister's neighborhood brought a 3 year-old little boy home from the Ukraine about 3 months ago, and she commented on how well behaved, and well adjusted he was.

Just wanted to second that this family's experience with older child adoption was not out of the ordinary.
