Default Photolisting: international and domestic adoption

Anyone know anything good or bad about the following site:
    http://www.precious.org/

A friend asked if I had ever heard of it and knew anything and I don't. Seems a bit odd, but maybe it's legitimate?

I've never heard of it. I know that there are other (known legitimate) photolistings for international adoption and state photolistings of children available to adopt. She should go to one of the adoption forums online and post there to ask about it - someone will have the scoop.

The only words of advice I can give is to make sure your friend goes through a reputable agency or facilitator for an international adoption. There have been too many stories of people trying to do "independent" international adoptions and getting in way over their heads, as far as the true health history of the child, fees, etc.

    Hi Traci,

Thanks for your reply. I didn't think of suggesting the adoption forums (I didn't want to push her because I knew she was going back and forth between IVF and adoption and was very confused). This was the first time she had asked us something adoption related besides what agency we had used. Massachusetts (where we both are) is an "agency-state" so I don't think she even could do an independent adoption if she wanted.

Thanks again. And good luck on your own journey! I think waiting has to be one of the hardest things I've ever done. It's definitely no fun at all.
