15-month old with tartar on teeth?

we brush LB's teeth every night, but he's got some crazy tartar on his little choppers. besides brushing his teeth, i've tried letting him chew on a tooth brush. i've tried flossing (how fun was that???), but it's still there. has anyone BTDT and if so, did you find a solution? it's only on his 3 bottom teeth so far - his 4 top teeth are fine.

ETA: i don't know if this is related, but LB's taken prilosec for reflux since he was 2 weeks old. BB has never had tartar and does not take any prescription meds.

Once the 1st teeth appears they can go in for a dental visit. I'd probably go to the dentist if you haven't already. I haven't had any trouble on that front though, sorry.
