Constipated???

My son will turn 4 months next week and has not pooped in 6 days. The doctor said it was fine but how much longer should I wait before I should really worry. Is there anything I can do to help him poop? He does not seem fussy or act any different so I am not sure if this is constipation or just his bowels maturing.

My son just turned 4 weeks and I'm having the same problem. I called the nurse and she said to try one of the following"
1. Takes his rectal temp - should make him poop (I did that this morning - so far no poop!)
2. Mix 1 oz of water with 1/2 teaspoon of brown sugar in a bottle. Acts as a stool softener.
3. Mix 1oz prune juice with 1oz of water in a bottle.

If he does not poop in the next few hours, I'm going to try the water & brown sugar.

Within 2-3 hrs of giving DS the water & brown sugar, he finally had a BM - it was not pretty but I am very relieved. He also seems much happier!!
