Default okay to sleep on tummy, if rolling over by himself?

My 5 month old just started rolling over at night while he sleeps.
We put him to sleep on his back, but in the morning he is face down. Does anyone know if this is safe? Or should we buy one of those
sleep positioners to keep him on his back? Thanks!

Default RE: okay to sleep on tummy, if rolling over by himself?

If he can roll over, it's fine. We went through a few weeks where my DD would roll onto her tummy, then wakeup and not be able to roll back, and we had to constantly go up and turn her over. Once she could roll both ways, she's been fine and most of the time will sleep on her side or tummy.
