Default Do you still call your toddler a baby?

(Yes, I know they're ALWAYS going to be our babies. :) )

I think I'm in the minority here, but I find that in general conversation I still say things like, "The baby's sick so I need to go home." For people that don't know me well, they naturally tend to think I have a newborn or at least a crawler at home, definitely not a toddler. DD even calls herself a baby. Actually I should say she calls herself "Bay" or "Bee," depending on the day.

And if you feel like chiming in, I'm just curious, when'd you stop calling yours a baby?

We still call him baby sometimes to each other, but I'm trying to get away from it! With other people though I'm usually better at saying "my son".

My DS is 2 1/2, and we still refer to him as "the baby." I guess he stays the baby until we have another one? If we don't have another one, I guess I should set a cut-off date so he doesn't grow up with "issues." :)

Yes, but she's only 16 months old. Isn't that still a baby? :) I imagine that as she gets older, we'll start calling her our daughter or just Kaya, but until then, she's still Baby. :)

Like Jennifer, DH and I still refer to Sarah as a baby at times, but officially she's no longer one. :(

If I do refer to Sarah as a baby, she will correct me by saying, "Mama, I'm not baby, I'm a little girl." She's right.

I'm trying to transition to "baby boy" but I'm still saying "baby" to DH. DH thinks I'm nuts and says "boy" and "son" alll the time.

DD now corrects me when I call her my "baby girl", she tells me "I'm not a baby, I'm a big toddler!"

Of course she'll always be my baby!!!

We called JG the baby until Noraa arrived, she was 2 years 7 months old. I have a feeling "baby Noraa" will be called that for a long time.

I do this all the time, although Jacob has started saying "I not a baby- I a little boy." Until he wants something...then we're doing the baby talk (literally- googoo gaga and saying "baby need cracker" LOL

My Dad still calls me his baby...and I am 30! I used to hate it as a teenager and he would tell me "you will always be my baby". Now as a parent, I understand that all too well. Matthew corrects me and tells me that he is a big boy and I know it to be true. But in my heart, he will always be my baby.
