Default Dyeing a knitted felted wool bag

I am knitting a wool bag that will be felted when I am finished. I also want to dye it. Should I dye it before I felt it? Or should I wait to dye until after felting?

    Thanks!

I'd dye it before felting. That way, the fibers should be able to absorb the color all the way through before cross-linking during the felting process.

I'm absolutely in love w/ felted bags so I'd love to see a pic of your finished product. Here are the ones I've knit so far. They were both made w/ kool-aid dyed wool.

I used the French Market bag pattern from knitty.com and then I decided to add the felted poppy from magknits.com just because I still had yarn leftover but not enough with which to make anything else.
