Default a bit off topic, but had to post it somewhere! :)

This is my new favorite thing to give new mommies that seem to have everything they need already:

It's just a wonderful keepsake, and you can even get your own name laser engraved in it as "a special gift from..."

We got one with the arrival of ds, and I have been waiting for my preggo friends to have their babies so I can order ones for them. ;)

WOW! I really like those. DH and I were toying with the idea of buying those prints that tell what happened on the day your baby was born. We already saved a newspaper from that day, so I like the block idea better. It is somthing that can be set on a shelf in their room.

    Thanks so much for posting!

I'm glad you saw the post--I just love those blocks! They're a nice weight, too... not light and hollow feeling. I really like how you can personalize them, too. They make them for Christenings, too!

I'm glad you liked them! It's a good webpage to keep on your "favorites" list, I think. :)

btw--I love the name Bronwyn! Dh and I were toying with it for our dd, but he nixed it at the last minute. I have always loved that name. And before we found out that our ds was a ds, we had Neve on the list for a girl! :) My aunt (godmother) is Neva, and I just love the name Neve. Alas, our Neve turned into a Jonas! ;)

We received one of these as a gift when our ds was born. Now we give them when anyone we know has a new baby. Everyone has had nothing but good things to say about them!

what a great gift idea. I have two friends that just had babies and i've been trying to figure out a unique gift to get them. I now know what to get.

That's great! It's really nice that you can personalize it, too-- I think that makes it extra special. :)
