I am looking for a clear wood finish that is safe for children. My dad wants to make a wooden something (he hasn't told me what), but all the clear finishes he usually uses have all sorts of warnings on them. He thinks the warnings refer to the fumes and not the dried finish, but he wants to be as safe as possible. The item won't be meant for chewing on, of course, but it seems to me that it will go in the kid's mouth no matter what.
I've looked at Ikea's BEHANDLA beeswax polish, but their website doesn't really give any information about it.
TIA!
