Musical Mobile Parts

Does anyone know where you can buy parts to assemble your own mobile? My local boutique charges $130 for custom mobiles, and I can't justify that since I know I could make one if I could find the plastic parts.

I've never seen the parts, but I plan on making my own custom mobile too. I've always just planned to buy a cheapie one with a tune I like and replace the little characters/toys with some I'll make myself, to match the nursery.

If you do find parts (I Googled every combination of relevant words I could think up), I'd love to know where. Best of luck!

Martha Stewart once made a Bat Mobile for Halloween. It didn't have music, but used a little motor to move the parts around. You might try her source:

Thanks for all of your suggestions. I think I am going to take apart my son's mobile and use those parts. I'll blame it on pregnancy brain, but that thought did not occur to me until after I posted this topic. :)
