Any opinions on the Viking Scandinavia 300?

I am looking to buy an embroidery/sewing machine. I have not sewn in years, so would consider myself a beginner. I want to do kid crafts/embroider items/simple curtains and pillows. I went to Joann's today to see the Vikings (Designer 1) and Singers (6000). I found out they only have Singers online. She was steering me toward the Viking Scandinavia 300. It is much cheeper than the other two, which is great. Especially since I don't know how much I will get into this new hobby for me. Does anyone know anything about these. I know Viking is a good company. I am having troble finding any info online except through the Viking web site.

Did you ever find anymore about this machine? I just looked at it at jo-anns today? Or did you buy one? I'm shopping for a machine, too.

Someone on another board responded that she really liked the machine, but wished it would embroider larger than the 4x4. There is a larger hoop, but I think I am understanding it is only for names?
I'm so confused.
