She is 15 months, but has liked the fringed blanket since she was about 8 or 9 months old.

PS Your post inspired me to make another one for DD--I finished it today!:-)

I love the blanket idea, we prefer our handmade blankets...cozier!
But if you are looking...my friend got a great gift at her shower. Someone had taken a paint can and covered it with patterned paper (using modge podge) and then tied ribbons on the handle. She put all kinds of neat things inside, like handmade thank you cards and burp clothes. You could put things inside that aren't handmade, though, too. I can't remember what she wrote on the outside, maybe something like the baby's name or "Precious Baby"....I think I took a picture of it. Everyone oohed and aahed over it. It was very cute!

I just had to share this boo boo bunny. I'm sure it's old, but my dd just loves the one I have for her

I also saw this octopus made out of receiving blankets and things, it is soooooo cute! You could use your homemade ones and this would be the hit of the party!

That site had a lot of unique ideas for bundling up gifts to look like other things, but I don't know how they do it? The octopus looks like rolled up blankets, criss-crossed with a blanket on top over a small ball and decorated.
