Default help making clippy baby hair bows

I think I could make my own and save a lot of money but would love some tips from others out there who have tried it. I found the clips at Sally Hair supply and bought some ribbon at the fabric store as well as some fabric glue....but should I use a hot glue gun instead? Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks

I used hot glue but next time I'm going to try E6000 glue. I don't think fabric glue would stick to the metal. I know if you do a search in Reality Layette, you'll find some links to sites that have free instructions. I don't have them off the top of my head. Mostly it just takes practice.

I dug up an old post of mine from well over a year ago. I think this might give you a jump start on making your own bows I checked to make sure that all the links work, and FYI, all the instructions are free!

You might be interested in this old thread from the craft section even though it is more about supplies than making the bows.

http://www.wrights.com/class/apparel...s/hairbows.htm The styles shown are holiday themed, but can easily be adapted for everyday wear.

http://www.yourgifthouse.com/face.ha...heel.girl.html Text-only instructions...may be useful after you get some practice on easier styles?

    http://www.babybows.com/Hairbow.htm a nice, simple BOW

http://korkersandmore.com/ this site shows how to make a snowball style hair ribbon **WARNING** the coding on the site is whacked out at the moment... to see the instructions correctly, you will have to use your left/right scroll bar to center the page.

If you really get into this, you can buy ribbon wholesale at www.jkmribbon.com -- they do have a $25 mininum order, but the prices are great --- SO much better than a craft store!

    Have fun making bows!
    HTH!

ETA: I forgot to include the original thread that I posted in eons ago -- there are some good tips from other mamas! http://www.windsorpeak.com/dc/dcboar...id=79133#79222
