Default RE: What can I make using fleece?

OK, I am dense. I am planning to make a poncho for my ellie, but I don't get the part about the rectangle for a hood. What am I missing?

    Thanks!

You wouldn't by any chance have a picture of the poncho would you? I would love to see it! -You've inspired me.

    Thanks

    Default question about poncho...

How much fabric do you use for the poncho? I found two different no-sew patterns. One calls for 1 yard per poncho, the other say 1 yard would make 2 ponchos...

Do you have picturs of the poncho you made and/or you can you go into more detail about the rectangle piece used for the hood?

I'm sorry, I didn't see this sooner. Here is the poncho, front and back-

The rectangle is big enough to fit around DD's head. I want to say maybe 18"x8". I don't remember exactly. I added the fur trim and sewed up the back of the hood. I cut a slit into the center of the main piece and just inserted the hood and sewed it in. I did add a piece of elastic in the seam so it wouldn't stretch out. On this poncho I just cut a straight slit across the "shoulders" but if I make it again I would actually cut more of a circle. But hey, it works. I don't know if it is obvious but it isn't round, it is more of an oval. The front and back is shorter than the side. I made the tassel out of pearl cotton to it would match. Here is the hood.

I hope that helps. Oh yeah, it takes about a yard of the 54" width fabric. Almost 36" round (well, oval) and then the hood.
