Default What to use as stuffing for a draft excluder?

I want to make some sausage draft excluders for our drafty doors this year. Any ideas what to use to stuff them? I think rice would be good but bad if it gets damp or mice might sniff it out. The poly fill for cushions might be too light.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

My mom has made a couple with cheap kitty litter or sand (it was encased in a plastic bag and then covered with the fabric.)

Ooooh, kitty litter is a good idea. I'm making the sausages tonight so I'll go get some in the morning. Thanks for the idea.

    Dried lentils or beans!
