Default New Foods & Sick Baby

My son has been eating baby oatmeal for nearly two weeks (his first solid), and we want to introduce barley next. The problem is, he's sick with a cold - sniffly nose, cough, etc. Should we wait until he's better, so that way we wont confuse a mild allergic reaction with cold symptoms, or is it okay to start now?

    Thanks!

I've always waited on trying something new if she wasn't feeling well.

We introduced a new food to DD - on the advice of her ped - when she was not feeling well. Of course, she had a reaction to something, and there was no way to tell whether it was the new food, the medication or, as it turned out, the most likely candidate was my mother's perfume (shhhh! This is a secret because she would absolutely die if she knew. . . .). She had to switch meds, quit eating the food, and is not supposed to try it again for a couple months.
My advice is to wait until your DS is feeling better.
