My neighbor called this morning to ask if she could still nurse even though her period had returned. She had two friends tell her she needed to stop immediately. Her mother said that she would make her boy gay if she nursed with all the "female hormones." I had to pick my jaw up off the floor. These are all college-educated people we're talking about... I am flabbergasted...

Oh, and I did tell her they were all insane and to keep nursing as long as she wants. Fortunately she trusts me!

Since your neighbor does not seem to be very educated about how her body works you might want to tell her that since she is obviously ovulating again that she might want to use some birth control!

Oh lordy...we've been down that road already, believe it or not. She called to ask what I used (at the time, um, sleep-deprived abstinence?). I said, "You just had a c-section last week!" Her reply, "Oh, honey--Bob [name changed] didn't even let me get out of the hospital!"

Oh, and this is their THIRD child, so she's not a new mom...

Felt a little bad for her about the "he didn't let me get out of the hospital." Um, everybody recovers at their own rate, but don't you think this was a little excessive? Someone needs to buy that DH a Playboy and a clue.
