Default RE: How much cow milk is your one year old drinking?

Andie-- Conner did the same thing as your dd when I tried to give him the goat milk. He'd take a big sip and then let it all dribble out of his mouth and down his chest when he realized it wasn't water!

DS is 16 mos old and his ped recommended 16-20 oz of whole cow's milk. We've been giving DS milk since 2 days after his 1st b-day. He actually made a face when he first took a sip and refused it. The next day we tried it again. I warmed it up in the microwave just enough to knock the chill off. He drank it all. The next day DS went to DC and drank 3 bottles of milk.

Right now, we're giving DS a sippy cup of Parents' Choice vanilla flavored protein drink once a day. He drinks a sippy cup of milk at lunch and dinner. The whole day he drinks water...which he loves! He doesn't drink any juice. The only time he drinks diluted white grape fruit juice is when he's constipated (which is rare nowadays).

I agree, don't give too much milk or else it'll take away from solids.

    Good luck,
