I got Child of Mine from the library and bought the other one, but I may end up buying Child of Mine also.

Agree with other posters, it is a pretty common sense guide except the BF info is off the mark. I wouldn't pay full price for it though. I found mine, the most recent edition/printing on either half.com or maybe it was eBay with a buy it now price. Only paid $2 plus shipping and it was in new or like new condition.

Thanks Rachel and Karen for pointing that out. I didn't read it until I was starting solids and I basically ignored everything on breastfeeding. I had forgotten all about that.

it's mostly that after a few months of age, everytime she mentions something other than solids, it's formula in a bottle she is talking about.

I think she had no clue about breastfeeding and only included it at all to be polite.

Agreed. She talks about "nipple feeding," by which she means bottle or breastfeeding. She also really emphasizes that there is a window of appropriate time for weaning, which she believes happens at around six months, and that if you don't initiate weaning then, you're jeopardizing your baby's nutritional health. It counters every recommendation out there on breastfeeding, and IMO it's pretty professionally irresponsible.

Rachel, I haven't read the book, so I might be off the mark here, but doesn't "weaning" in the traditional sense mean to not be exclusively breastfeeding, i.e., adding solids in additon to breastmilk (or formula if that is the case). Perhaps that is the sense she is using for the word weaning?
