Breastmilk is THE cure-all!

I heard something today in Nursing group that I just had to share. One gal mentioned that she has had a sinus infection for over two weeks now and one of my gal pals in group said to me, "maybe she should drink some breastmilk! It'll cure anything!". THen she told me that her 11 yr old son had severe goopage on his eye due to allergies. They tried every eye drop under the sun and nothing worked. So she took a dropper and unbenounced to him, filled it with breastmilk and dropped it in his eye The next day it was cleared up! The LC's that run the group said that they'd heard lots of moms tell them that...MILK IN THE EYES!? And they also told of a gal who used it on a cut on her foot and it healed up right away...are they just BSing me? LOL! Now I want to try out the theory on DH ;)

The woman who taught our childbirth class said she even used breastmilk in her dog's eyes and it worked!

I've heard often that breastmilk is great for pink eye, etc.

One of the multitudes of LCs I worked with said that she ut breastmilk in her children's ears if she suspected an ear infection.

Yes, I've used it in DD's eyes before and it really helped. Maybe I should try it in her nose and mine (we're both on the congested side)!

I've heard it is a miracle cure for pink eye.

I did try it on my daughter's eyes when she had blocked tearducts, but hers were so blocked that she needed to have the probe and irrigation done two separate times.

It's also awesome for those little scratches babies get on their faces from their nails. A few drops at night dabbed on, and the next morning - good as new!

EBM is also great for acne - Mommy's and Baby's. ;)

I attended a breast feeding class last night and was amazed at how wonderful breastmilk is. I was a raised on a bottle and always thought that was what you were suppose to do. I'm so glad I know better know!

I went to a prenatal breastfeeding class and the LC said that the antibodies in breastmilk inhibit the growth of HIV. Isn't that something!!

I've also heard that it's great to use on scratches and scrapes, etc. But I didn't know about the acne...I'm gonna have to try that as my hormones are still out of whack!!! :o

Acne, really? That's awesome. I do have some frozen left over that Kaya never used--would that work if I washed my face with it? ;)
