Default Has anyone tried Mother's milk?

Or something like it to increase your supply? What did you think? Is it safe? Does it work?

I used it and I found that if I used it just before pumping, I always got better output. I think it's considered safe, but one of the other women on the boards could probably better answer the question. My LC recommended it, in any case.

From what I know, it doesn't increase your supply as well as fenugreek, but I never had to go the fenugreek route.

Thanks, Eileen!! I find you everywhere on the BBB!!!

Anyone else have experience with it? I had great production last night, but the rest of the week was pretty slow when I was pumping. So I don't want to over produce, but seem to need something like this some times.

LOL, I don't know if that's a good thing! :P I regularly visit Feeding, Butts, and the Lounge, and check out Around the House periodically.

There were times when I just seemed to need the tea, especially if I was stressed or didn't quite take in that much water that day. I don't think it ever caused me to over produce, so there were weeks here and there when I had it at least a couple times a day and I never had problems with over production.

Doesnt Mothers milk tea have fenugreek in it? I know it has other herbs but I thought fenugreek was one of the ingrediants. Its great stuff. I took it along to the hospital when I had Nathan. Worked well. I did end up taking the fenugreek capsules later on. I also got a wahm made tea that contained much of the same herbs ( more anise which made it seem a little sweeter) in bulk off of ebay.

I used it, and it was helpful. I would usually have a couple of cups a day. It does have some fenugreek in it, and some other herbs.

It is safe, and was recommended by both my midwife and LC. I did also have to do a few other things to help my supply, but I think the mother's milk tea is a good place to start...and it can't hurt. :)

How quickly does it work? Can I just drink it once in awhile for that day, or is it one of those things where you have to take it for a few days in a row before you start seeing an effect?

For me, I usually saw an effect after drinking a cup or two. But it may vary from person to person. It certainly wouldn't hurt to try it. I really like herbal teas, so it was pretty easy for me. :)

I used it when I thought I was having supply issues a few times and it worked great after a cup or two...usually within a few hours if I remember right (maybe even within an hour?) It was recommended to me by a hospital LC. I think it is quite safe and actually pretty decent tasting :)
