    Default V8 V-fusion

Woo hoo! A tasty way to get veggies into my daughter. It's probably not as good as actually eating the veggies but each cup of juice contains a full serving of fruits and a full serving of veggies and is 100% juice. My daughter hasn't had veggies in months and months because not matter what we do, she just won't touch them-not even veggie crackers although that's hardly a veggie. So I got the juice when I saw it last night and she really likes it. I'm so excited to finally get some veggies of any form into her. Just thought I would share in case any one else has the same problem. We tried the strawberry bananna juice but there is at least one other flavor. It's pretty tasty I must say. Hope this helps someone else too.

    Good thinking!

I'm laughing at myself because I thought you were saying you fed your kid nutritrious shampoo. I had confused V8 with V05. :)

Thanks for posting. My DD has been on a veggie strike for months now (she also rejected the veggie cracker!) and veggie booty is the closest thing I can get her to eat! I'm going to give it a try!

We tried the Peach Mango version (DH and I, not DD :) ) and LOVED it!! I could drink waaaaaay too much of it - but hey, it's healthy, right? ;) And unfortunately, my DH is not into vegetables either, so it's a good trick for adults too!

Oh my gosh, I thought the same thing! I'm glad I wasn't the only one!

Okay, so question: what's the sodium content of this V8 V-fusion? Because if it's not too high, I may pick some up for ME! :)

    Thanks for the review!

By the way, have you tried Veggie Booty? There are definitely days when I count that as a vegetable! ;) Kaya loves it, so it's always a good back up food in our household.

Hee hee, I didn't even think of the shampoo thing. That's too funny. :) Eileen, I looked on the bottle and the sodium content is 70mg so not great but not terrible either. It sure does taste good though.

I haven't tried veggie booty. I'm not sure where to get it around here and I'm not sure I could get Amelia to try it, but I would certainly give it a whirl if I knew where to get it.

You can get veggie booty from TJ's, WFs, and I've also seen it at the regular grocery store (some of them, but not all).

As for sodium content, are you sure you meant 70 mg and not 700 mg? 70 mg isn't bad at all. I think I may have to try this! :) The only thing is that I'm not supposed to have a lot of tomato based things because of my reflux. What are the veggies in this thing, anyway?

    Thanks!!!

Yup, I meant 70mg. I can't tell you what veggies are in the other flavors but the strawberry banana has sweet potatoes, carrots, tomatoes, and beets. Regular V8 bothers me because of the acid but this doesn't so I don't think it has much tomato in it. This flavor has a good amount of potassium (190mg) because of the banana so it really is a nice drink all in all.

We don't have a TJ's or WF so I may be out of luck with the veggie booty. I have to buy more babydophilus today so I will look at our tiny health food store and see what they have.

Default Have you tried the veggie munchees?

Slightly OT, but I wanted to add my favorite way for getting veggies into Jonathan. Amy's Kitchen sells frozen veggie snacks. They are filled with spinach and feta and baked in a whole wheat crust. Whole Foods carries them and also carries broccoli munchees and spinach-tofu munchees by the "Health is Wealth" company. Jonathan loves them all! Like most frozen foods they are a little higher in sodium but I am happy that he gets green veggies and whole grains almost every day.

Oooh! Okay, I think I'm going to try this V8 V-fusion. It just sounds yummy. I actually, when I have a bunch of fresh veggies in my house, make my own smoothies. I usually add yogurt and then whatever fruits and or veggies I think of. These can include green pepper, cucumber, apples, bananas, oranges (although I have to lay off the citrus, too), berries of all kinds, grapes, limes, and whatever else I think of. I think I'm going to have to get some canned beets and add those! Ooh, and I never thought to use sweet potato and carrots, so I may have to try that as well. Thanks!

As for the veggie booty, you can order online (we got a case each of the veggie booty and the pirates booty way back when).
