I stopped pumping over a year ago. I stopped nursing 8 months before that. Can someone please tell me why my breasts are STILL leaking - I mean, really leaking - and when they're going to stop?

Has it been consistent? Or did they recently start again? Mine leaked a few months after I quit nursing DS, and my doc (RE) ended up running a bunch of bloodwork on me. I was fine, but he was covering all bases. So if it's something new, it might be worth a call to your doc.

I'll second Jeanne's suggestion to ask your doctor. It may just be how you're built, but it could signal some kind of hormone imbalance that could be easily fixable.

Yeah, at this point, I would definitely check with your doctor. You're not preggo are you? ;)

Seriously, I'm still nursing Kaya AND I'm preggo and I haven't leaked in ages. I can hand express out of the one she nurses, but not the other one. But the amounts are pretty small.

I think I remember once that Karen (stillplayswithbarbies) said she could express milk out for YEARS after she stopped nursing her son, but I don't know about leaking. I second (3rd? 4th?) the rec to call your doc.

I was only able to nurse Madeline for about 3 months, but I was still leaking a year later when I got pregnant with Sabrina. It drove me crazy.

OMG are you all serious?! I've heard of women feeling "the tingle" for years to come but leaking? Wow. That's something to look forward to ;)
PS. Bright is still nursing...

yes, that was me. For years I could get drops of milk out. I don't know when it finally stopped, I guess I got bored with checking it after a few years!

It didn't leak though.
