I really like the vent system on the Ventaire but hate the plastic. I believe the MAM bottles (that work similarly to the Ventaire) are cetified free of bisphenol A. You can order them from target. I haven't tried them. I actually use glass with the doctor brown's inserts. Just beware that the large inserts are too long without being trimmed down. Dr. Brown's inserts are a real pain to clean IMO, so based on the on-line reviews I would check out the MAM. Also, haven't tried their bottles, but there is a company called born free (DD uses their sippy) that is certified free of the chemical. HTH,
Bec
As an Avent-bottle-using mama, I definitely wish I had known before investing in all those Avent bottles! Fortunately DD is mainly breastfed, with the occasional pumped bottle. And at 12 months, she's doing more sippy cup than bottle.
But yes, you are right to be asking questions about plastics. Here are a few links I've found useful:

On a related note, here's a similar resource with information about the safety of common brands of health and beauty products (including baby skin care and diapering products):

Hope this is helpful!
