I'm looking to buy some bibs that are:
Large
Thick material
Snap in the back
Inexpensive
Any suggestions?

EDITED TO SAY....we are using them right now when giving him a bottle, so need to be good for absorbing liquid / spit up.

At Wal-Mart, there are Sally Huss bibs that snap to make pockets and snap in the back. They run about $4 each.

I loved the Sally Huss bibs too, but decided to quit using them when some were recalled due to high levels of lead, yes, LEAD used to make the PVC soft. ( you can do a search for the thread here, I think, for the details of the recall) Now I just use the nylon bibs from I Play. I get them at Buy Buy Baby and the price depends on the style.
The over the head ones are about $7, the velcro in back are about $5, the ones with long sleeves are about $9.
While they aren't terribly absorbent, they do keep the crud off DD. Plus I can rinse them in the sink and they dry in time for the next meal. We only have 3, but it works for us.

[a href="http://www.livelovedream.com/sillybillyz/"]Silly Billyz[/a] are my favorite bibs. I use them exclusively now. I have the regular pocket bibs and a couple of the long-sleeved bibs for bigger messes.

Umm...your post made me rather concerned since we have and use the Sally Huss bibs from Wal Mart. I did the search and found a thread (http://tinyurl.com/2x9k8j) about recalled Wal Mart bibs that were manufactured by Hamco, but the recall does not seem to include the Sally Huss bibs, which are made by Dex Products.
If you have different information, please let me know. Thanks!

The Sally Huss bibs were NOT recalled. Those were other bibs sold by Wal-Mart.

Thanks, Lori! That's what I thought after looking it up. I appreciate your confirmation, so I can continue to happily use my Sally Huss bibs! (not to mention the many I've given/recommended to friends over the past few years...)

Not that large but when DS#2 was little he dribbled all over the place when drinking a bottle. Sometimes I wondered how much went into his tummy!
We go a 10 pack (I think) of bibs from Target that had a plastic backing and they worked beautifully. It kept the wetness from soaking through and I kept a cloth diaper handy for burping/spitups! I think we had 30 or 40 of them (over the course of a year) cause he was such a messy eater ... just made it easy to have a ton on hand and they just cycled through the wash! They were cheap and when they got funky or too stained I just tossed them! Here is a link
