Default Nut free desserts (ready made or recipies)

A new member of my playgroup has kids with nut allergies. I'm supposed to bring a dessert (as in brownies, cupcakes, etc.) to our next function and would like to take something they can eat. (The mom says it's no problem as they're used to not being able to eat stuff, but I'd really like to bring something they can eat!)

Can anyone give me some ideas as to the best places that sell ready made and/or make at home things like brownies, cup cakes, etc. that are safe for people with nut allergies?

I know I could make something from scratch if I really needed to, but I honestly just don't have time to do that! Ready made or mixes are my friends these days! ;) Since the event isn't for a couple of weeks, even info. about an online source is fine.

    TIA,

how about making a box of brownie mix and throwing in some chocolate chips and white choclate chips. you can put all the chips in the batter or save some to sprinkle on top.

    or rice krispy treats.

The problem is many of the brownie/cake mixes I've looked at list that they are made in a facility which processes nuts. So I'm looking for recommendations for mixes that are safe for those with nut allergies. I know several people on the boards have nut allergies, so I was hoping they could make some recommendations.

ETA: The rice treats are a good idea though! Maybe I'll keep that as my backup plan.

Whole Foods would probably be able to help you, if you have one?

Here's one brand I found through a web search, Cherrybrook Kitchen:

My daughter has peanut allergies as well. For mixes cherrybrook kitchens and Dr. Oetker (i find it in the organic section of my grocery store) are the only safe mixes that I know about. Walmart's brand of chocolate chips (I think its sams choice) are also safe. Jello squares would also be safe and they are fairly easy to make. If you have any more questions, let me know. HTH

I used to make a really good fast brownie recipe that was in my old Betty Crocker cookbook, I'll see if I can track it down. I know nuts were optional, you can always throw in more chocolate! :)
