This sounds kind of lame, and I am certainly not a bloody mary expert, but my favorite is a v-8 bloody mary. Not sure of proportions, but we just use v-8, vodka & tabasco sauce. Maybe a little lemon juice, too.

    Easy & yummy.

    Hope you find "the one"!

My dad uses pepper vodka instead of regular. Also sometimes he will use clamato instead of v-8 or tomato juice, although I think that makes it a bloody ceasar....or maybe the pepper vodka does....

Can you tell I don't drink?

This is pretty much what I use:

    1 large lime wedge
Coarse salt, for the rim of the glass
1 1/2 ounces high quality vodka
    4 ounces tomato juice
    Dash celery salt
    Dash freshly ground cracked pepper
    4 good shakes Worcestershire sauce
    1/4 teaspoon horseradish
2 to 3 good dashes good hot sauce

Rub rim of glass with lime, dip in salt. Add all ingredients to glass, stirr add ice, squeeze in the rest of the lime wedge, serve with a stalk of celery and olive.

Finally, someone asks a question I am an expert on! I LOOOVE bloody mary's!! My husband is a chef and we have made an art out of making them. We always make a BIG pitcher and freeze the mix for use at a later time. I only add the vodka when I am pouring a glass. You can use whatever is on hand in the fridge for flavor. A trick I learned from a bar in Portsmouth, NH is to dilute the tomato juice with sour mix. It sounds odd, but makes them much ligher and they taste fantastic! This recipe tastes great after it's made, but even better a few hours later!!

    BASICS
1 big bottle V8 juice (regular or spicy)
About 1/2 bottle pre-made sour mix
Squeeze in 1 or 2 lemons (leave rind in mix for flavor)
Few stalks of celery with leaves (crush stalks first to release flavor)
Few dashes of Tabasco or any other hot sauce
Few dashes Worcestershire or any steak sauce
    Few tablespoons of crushed horseradish

THINGS WE ADD IF WE HAVE ON HAND
Squeeze in 1 or 2 limes (leave rind in mix)
    Fresh gingeroot
    Few dashes of soy sauce
    Cooked shrimp (my favorite!)
    Cucumber sticks
    Green olive's with juice
    Few dashes Franks redhot
    Ground celery seed

It sounds like a lot - but its really worth the trouble!!
