RE: Fresh herbs all yr round
My husband is great with herbs outside, but we have had varying degrees of success moving some of them inside in colder weather in the NE. One year, we had a basil plant that lasted the entire winter next to the French door in our kitchen where it could get plenty of sun. Unfortunately, we have tried many times with rosemary to no avail...I think that because we have forced hot air heat, it gets too dry for some of the herbs that are drier in texture. I think you might be able to do well bringing thyme in the house. Any time we have grown thyme, it has grown like a weed. Last year, we left it outside for the winter, it died, and it came back in the spring even though I don't know if it's supposed to or not. I don't know if that is any help. Good luck!
